Lector/Commentator (101)
NOTE: You may register for only one of these liturgical ministries: 101, 102, 103, & 104, and may not also sign up for a music ministry.
(Adults, HS, MS): Proclaim God’s Word at liturgies. Need the ability to read well and to proclaim the word effectively. Initial and on-going training sessions required. One-year commitment: Sept 2011 through Sept 2012** Rank masses in order of preference:

Eucharistic Minister (102)
(Adults; Confirmed teens) NOTE: You may register for only one of these liturgical ministries: 101, 102, 103, & 104, and may not also sign up for a music ministry.
Assist in the distribution of bread and wine, serving the community with prayerful reverence and dignity. Training sessions required of all new to this ministry at St. Thomas. Ministers must be confirmed. Host-Greeter (103)

Serve assembly by setting a tone of hospitality as people enter church for Mass. Assist with seating, collection and communion procedures. Choose your preferred Mass time and indicate if you want to be captain/co-captain. Training sessions required of all new to this ministry at St. Thomas. One-year commitment: Sept 2011 through Sept 2012**

Altar Servers (104)
(5th grade through adults) NOTE: You may register for only one of these liturgical ministries: 101, 102, 103, & 104, and may not also sign up for a music ministry.
Children in the 5th grade through adults may be Altar servers. Serve at the altar for liturgies. Training provided. One-year commitment: Oct 2011 through Oct 2012** Training to be announced. **Ministry head required to take Protecting God’s Children.

Sacristan (106)
Prepare the Altar and surroundings for liturgies on Sundays, Weekdays, at Weddings or at Funerals.

Church Care/Temple Keepers (107)
(Adults; HS). Help with the house cleaning and orderliness of the church.

Care of Linens (108)
Launder and press (once a month) purificators and corporals used at the liturgies.

Funeral Altar Servers (110)
(Adult) Assist at funerals. Must be available during the day Monday through Saturday.

Wedding Hostesses/Hosts (111)
Assist the bridal party on the day of their wedding and conduct the rehearsal on the evening prior to the wedding.

Art and Environment (112)
(Adult, HS) Create and decorate the church environment for the liturgical celebrations throughout the year. Families can participate seasonally or for special occasions.

Bread Baker (113)
Bake Eucharistic bread used at liturgies. Training provided.

Seamstress (114)
Sew, by hand or machine, the linens, vestments, and banners used at the liturgy.

Media Ministry (116)
(Adults, HS, MS): Help to create multi media presentations and operate cameras and other video and audio equipment at liturgies. (For 6:00 mass, see under youth ministry #425)
