240 Pint Challenge

The summer St. Thomas Blood Drive is Tuesday, August 7 from 3:00 to 7:30 p.m.
in the St. Thomas gym. This drive is the kick-off to the 240 Pint Challenge. The goal is sixty (60) pints per blood drive August 7 through May 7.
(Aug. 7, Nov. 6, Feb. 5, May 7)
Helpful Donation Tips:
Increase your water intake 1-2 days prior to your donation.
Eat iron-rich foods such as red meat and/or dark green, leafy vegetables 1-2 days prior to your donation.
East a good meal prior to your donation. If you’ve had donation issues in the past, make sure your two prior meals are substantial.
Basic Requirements:
Must be at least 16 years old by the day of the blood drive to donate – No upper age limit.
Photo IDs are required for ALL donors.
Must weigh a minimum of 110 pounds.
Must be feeling healthy & well (no cold, flu or allergy symptoms)
If taking these medications:
Cholesterol Medication: may donate
Blood Pressure Medication: may donate
Thyroid Medication: may donate
Anti-depressants: may donate
Antibiotics: acceptable after last dose. Must be symptom-free
Insulin: may donate (provided you’ve never taken a bovine-derived variety)
